BVCHC accepts most major RI insurance plans including Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. We also accept RIte Care, RIte Share, Medicaid, & Medicare members.

Language Assistance

Blackstone Valley Community Health Care is committed to clearly and thoroughly communicating with all patients and their families about the care we provide. We are fully committed to providing quality health care to all patients that is linguistically and culturally appropriate. Interpreter services for non-English speaking and hearing impaired patients are important to quality health care. Please let your doctor know in advance about your language or hearing needs. If you need an interpreter, please let us know when you check in.

Cultural Competency

BVCHC employs individuals from the cultures of the patients that we serve. Additionally, its leadership team embraces these cultures and has a passion for serving the demographic of BVCHC. When interacting with patients of different cultures, we focus on ensuring that we utilize written and verbal language that is culturally appropriate. We understand and work to incorporate cultural preferences into our patient interactions especially those involving health care views, religious beliefs, diet in the culture, and prevalence of disease on culture, family dynamic and social norms.”

Transportation Services

We have three options for transportation services: MTM, UberHealth and a local Central Falls cab company, City Taxi. If you require transportation assistance, please inform us when you book your appointment.

How to get involved?

Blackstone Valley Community Health Care (BVCHC) recognizes the need for a Patient Advisory Group (PAG). Our Patient Advisory Group serves an important role in advising our health center in terms of the care, services and customer service that we provide to our patients. Committee members play a vital role in our success. This is a volunteer position and we ask for a one year commitment. If interest, email us at patientadvisorygroup@bvchc.org. Blackstone Valley Community Health Care (BVCHC) is a federally funded community health center, and as such meets the statutory requirements for community health centers in terms of governance and management. The BVCHC Board is made up of 51% users and they are representative of the community we serve. Our BVCHC Board serves an important role in advising our health center in terms of the care.
