Family Medicine is a specialty that provides comprehensive primary care and preventative services to all members of the family – from new babies to grandparents.

The aim of family medicine

Family physicians have unique attitudes and skills. The aim of family medicine is to provide personal, comprehensive and continuing care for the individual in the context of the family and the community which includes annual physical examinations and chronic disease management: arthritis, diabetes, obesity, asthma, high blood pressure and others.

Caring for entire families

Family Doctors understand not only patient’s biologic state, but also the psychological and social influences on health. They are qualified to care for all family members regardless of sex, age, or type of problem (biological, behavioral, or social). In addition to preventing, recognizing, and treating disease, family physicians work to get to know the family and develop long-term relationships with their patients.
